Apex Automotive’s owner and operator Mike Vanderstar originally hails from Auckland, New Zealand. Mike opened Apex to serve customers from Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and beyond with his love of cars and vast knowledge of all makes and models of automobiles. Having been a mechanic for 20 years, Mike knows cars!
Mike is a Certified Red Seal Automotive Service Technician under the BC Industry Training Authority. Mike is also a Qualified Inspector with his BC provincial inspection certificate from the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure with the Government of BC.
Mike continues to learn and ensure he can serve you to the current best practice standards and that is why he also has his certificate from Snap-on in Critical Thinking: 21st Century Diagnostics.
From his days in New Zealand, Mike is also certified in Motor Industry Automotive Engineering (from the New Zealand Qualifications Authority) and was a certified Warrant of Fitness Inspector (from Land Transport New Zealand).
Mike joined the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce in 2015 and is a member in good standing.
